Open Position: RN - PCU Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac

Job Details:

* Work on a 30-bed Cardiac unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
* Unit staffing includes unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs day and night, nursing supervisor, and hospitalists
* Utilize equipment including Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, GE Telemetry, and Rovers
* Document using Meditech-HCA version system
* Administer medications using WOW for all nurses and PyxisES dispensing system
* Scheduling requires equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
* Floating policy includes other medical/surgical areas: general MS, ortho, PCU, and MS surgical with oncology, rotating unless skill mix is needed
* Patient experience requirements include bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5Ps checked, and reporting to PCTs of known needs at beginning and during shifts
* Perform procedures including chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs
* Must have knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips
* Document telemetry application, acknowledge rhythm strips, and place in chart each shift
* Follow NO PASS ZONE policy for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
* Cardiac knowledge preferred
* Dress code: Navy scrubs for RNs; may wear white, blue, grey, orange, or black t-shirt underneath with no graphics; no artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish
