Opportunity:
RN - PCU/MS
Job Details:
* Mixed acuity MS/PCU unit with 29 beds
* Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM | Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required
* No on-call requirements
* Holiday expectations vary with a minimum of 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
* 6-week schedule periods provided 4 weeks in advance - no self-scheduling, work directly with manager
* Patient ratios: RN 1:4 PCU and 1:5 MS/MT | CNA 1:10
* Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, GIB, bariatric post-op, diabetic, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, acute SNF patients, and TIA/stroke rule out
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: telemetry experience, CIWA, BiPAP, central line maintenance and management, tube and drain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV skills
* Preferred skills: chest tube management, trach care, and home vent
* Charting system: EPIC (preferred) with Alaris and Pyxis equipment
* Travelers will float first to ED holding and overflow areas
* 12-hour unit orientation with preceptor on assigned shift followed by full assignment
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required to be completed and passed prior to start
* Bedside handoff is required and whiteboard must be filled out per shift
* Scrub color: any color, professional
* Free parking available in designated areas
* 1 year of PCU experience required
