Opportunity:

Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Details:

* Provide physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist in accordance with agency policies and state practice
* Treat patients as prescribed by physician following initial and periodic evaluation of physical therapy and rehabilitation needs established by a registered Physical Therapist
* Treat patients within the plan of care to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity
* Direct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, and activities of daily living including transfer activities and prosthetic training
* Utilize equipment such as ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generation, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines
* Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in patient condition to the registered Physical Therapist
* Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques and activities as appropriate
* Arrange with health agency for use of equipment available to patients
* Complete and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards
* Must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Vermont and New Hampshire or hold a compact license
* Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required
* One year of experience as a PTA in a home health care setting preferred
