Job Details:
* 12-hour variable shifts with possible start times of 6:30 AM, 8:30 AM, or 10:30 AM
* Must be available to work 7 days a week unless approved by the nurse manager
* Shift times will vary based on department needs and may change weekly
* Additional shift options include 8-hour days (6:30 AM?3:00 PM), 8-hour evenings (2:30 PM?11:00 PM), 10-hour days (6:30 AM?5:00 PM or 8:30 AM?7:00 PM), 10-hour evenings (12:30 PM?11:00 PM), and 12-hour days (6:30 AM?7:00 PM, 8:30 AM?9:00 PM, or 10:30 AM?11:00 PM)
* Night shift schedule is 7 on/7 off with 8-hour weeknights and 12-hour weekend nights
* Schedule is set in 6-week increments
* Weekend rotation required on an occasional basis as determined by department needs
* On-call requirements include 4?6 call shifts per 6-week period from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM with a 30-minute response time
* No sleep rooms available during on-call shifts
* Minimum 2 years of acute/inpatient OR experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
* Strong orthopedic experience required including sports medicine, total joints, and orthopedic spine
* DaVinci Robotics experience required; Mazer robotics experience preferred
* RN responsibilities include circulating for general, ENT, GYN, vascular, urology, podiatry, and minimal pediatric cases
* Surgical Tech responsibilities include scrubbing for above case types
* Anesthesia Tech responsibilities include supporting anesthesia with robotics, arterial line management, Ranger massive transfusion, blood warmer, intubation, and tracking cart and anesthesia machine
* Anesthesia Tech scheduling is Monday?Friday with 6:00 AM or 8:30 AM start times; call required on weekends only (2?3 weekends per 6-week schedule)
* Anesthesia Tech will be required to float to IR, Cath Lab, OB, GI, and MRI
* RN and Surgical Tech may be assigned to float to inpatient areas or ER during low census; travelers will not take patient assignments or administer medications and will only work within scope of practice
* No open hearts, transplants, or high-level neuro surgeries performed
* EMR: EPIC experience required for CAP backfills and preceptors
* IV Pump: Alaris; Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
* Required certifications for RN: BLS; Surgical Tech: BLS and state license (CST preferred); Anesthesia Tech: BLS and ASATT certification
* Scrubs are provided by the facility
* Parking is free
* No phones permitted on the unit
* Mandatory breaks: 12-hour shifts include three 15-minute rest breaks and one 30-minute lunch; 8- and 10-hour shifts include two 15-minute rest breaks and one 30-minute lunch
* Soft skills required include flexibility, teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude
Facility:
This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 beds, featuring 11 operating rooms and one hybrid room. The facility handles a high volume of surgical cases averaging 40?50 per day across a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, GYN, vascular, urology, and podiatry. The department is supported by a comprehensive team including charge RNs, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, surgeons, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists.
