Job Details:
* Evening shift from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
* On-call required: Weeknight standby shifts of 24 hours every 4 weeks (blocks of 4-hour or 8-hour shifts) and weekend call of 24 hours every 4 weeks (12-hour standby shifts x 2)
* Weekends required: Must work weekend shifts in lieu of weekday shifts as needed for department needs
* Block schedules not required
* Patient ratio of 1:1
* Position does not float between units
* 48-hour shifts not approved
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Adult Acute Care Operating Room with all adult specialties, with a focus on treating advanced oncology surgical cases
* Specialties include Bariatrics, Ortho, Podiatry, Neuro, ENT, OMFS, GYN, General, Colorectal, Urology, Hepatobiliary, Plastics, Eye, Vascular, Thoracic, Organ Harvest, and Endovascular
* Adult surgical specialties not performed: Open Heart and Organ Transplant
* Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
* Daily census of 60 patients across 21 rooms
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrub color: Any color; OR scrubs provided
* Parking: No fee
* Must be certified as a surgical technologist or military trained
* Travel experience required
* Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NBSTSA, ASATT
* Must have broad knowledge of surgical equipment including Intuitive Surgical Systems XI and SI
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Key skills include: Da Vinci Robotics, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Spinal Fusion, Total hip and knee replacement, Craniotomy, Endovascular procedures, Vascular procedures, and a wide range of general and specialty surgical procedures
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates with 418 total staffed beds and maintains a high standard of surgical care. The operating room department consists of 21 rooms with a daily census of 60 patients, supporting a comprehensive range of adult surgical specialties with a particular focus on advanced oncology surgical cases. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and is equipped with advanced surgical technology including the Intuitive Surgical Systems XI and SI.
