Open Position: RN - PACU

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2677.40

RN - Pre/Post (PACU)

Job Details:

* Variable shift schedule; start times stagger between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM depending on area assigned for the day
* Must be flexible with scheduling to meet department needs
* Nurses scheduled for PACU are expected to stay and finish the day as there is no shift relief in outpatient surgery
* Monday through Friday schedule only; no weekends, no holidays, no on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
* 40 orientation hours required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Care for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Daily census of approximately 10 patients across 4 rooms
* Provide pre-operative assessment, pre-op education, and pre-op medications
* Manage Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
* Perform infusion therapy (required)
* Handle all outpatient surgeries including general, orthopedic, urology, and procedures where patients go home same day
* Scrubs or business casual attire required
* California state license required; pending license accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required skills include but are not limited to: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, blood product administration, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition/management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and nerve blocks
* May be required to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* RTO limited to no more than 7 days

This acute care facility operates a robust outpatient surgery and PACU program serving a diverse patient population spanning adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The unit supports a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, and podiatry. The facility utilizes Epic as its primary charting system and provides interpretation services as interdisciplinary support for patient care.
