Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of experience in an ER setting required
* Travel experience preferred but not required (first-time travelers accepted with Level 1 ER experience)
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 4-5 weekend shifts per 6-week period
* For 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM shifts, Friday and Saturday are counted as weekends
* For 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM shifts, Saturday and Sunday are counted as weekends
* Requested time off longer than one week not approved unless special circumstance
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted
* Treats patients across all age groups including infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Facility sees a daily census of 90 with approximately 250 visits per day across 84 rooms and 100 beds
* May float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC (PALS may be used to meet this requirement), TNCC, NIHSS, PALS
* Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation
* KY state license or compact license required
* No Trauma Level I experience necessary

This large healthcare facility operates a high-volume emergency department with 84 rooms and 100 beds, seeing approximately 250 patient visits per day. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services. The emergency department serves a diverse patient population across all age groups and maintains rigorous compliance and competency standards for all clinical staff.
