Opportunity:

Medical Lab Scientist - ER Lab / FSED

Job Details:

* 7 on/7 off night shift schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 10 hours per day
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call requirements, though additional hours are available during the 7-off week if desired
* 13-week assignment with the option to extend to 26 weeks
* Perform point-of-care testing as a Medical Lab Scientist
* Willing to perform clerical duties as assigned by nursing and lab director in support of FSED operations
* Must hold a full license - associates degree not accepted
* Certified MLS through ASCP or equivalent required
* Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment as an MLT or MLS required
* Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
* Experience with analyzers including Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, Werfen Top 300, Quidel Triage, Siemens ePOC, Abbott iSTAT, Veritor FLU, Quidel SOFIA COVID-19, and Aerospray stainer preferred
* Perform daily maintenance, QC, calibrations on analyzers, and patient testing including waived and non-waived tests
* Specimen processing including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, preparing send-outs for transport, stocking lab supplies, and routine cleaning of lab surfaces
* Must adhere to standard lab safety protocols as required by CLIA and CAP
* Dress code: pewter-colored scrubs; lab coat will be provided
* Must be able to work independently while communicating professionally with both lab and non-lab clinical staff

Facility:

This facility operates a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 10 treatment rooms and a team of 8 lab technologists supporting around-the-clock patient care. The laboratory is equipped with advanced diagnostic analyzers and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system. The facility maintains high standards of laboratory safety and quality, adhering to CLIA and CAP requirements.
