Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Position may float between units to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* Expected patient ratio of 1:5
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds
* Neurology patient care experience required, including proficiency with NIH scale and caring for a variety of neurology diagnoses
* Designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
* Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation
* NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Patient diagnoses include Neuroscience, Neurology, Neurosurgical, and Telemetry
* Required skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA care, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Charting system: Epic (required, hardstop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Parking: No fee
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries.
