Open Position: RN - ICU

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2728.40

Opportunity:

RN - ICU Float Pool

Job Details:

* 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, scheduled 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 36-hour work week with 3 shifts per week based on operational need
* Float pool position - not unit based; must have ability to float to all TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU across all UCSF campuses
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Minimum 2.5 years of recent adult medical/surgical critical care RN experience required
* Variety in critical care experience preferred: med/surg, cardiac, and neuro
* Recent float pool, PACU, or emergency room experience preferred but not required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* Trauma Level II experience required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of offer; no additional requests accepted mid-contract
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* California RN license in hand required
* BSN required
* Key skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVVHD/CRRT, ECMO, ICP monitoring, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventricular assist device management (LVAD/RVAD)
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology

This is a large academic medical center and teaching hospital with 600 beds, offering a comprehensive range of critical care services across multiple campus locations. The facility supports a wide variety of intensive care units including medical, surgical, cardiovascular, neuro, and transplant ICUs, and provides robust interdisciplinary support services. The organization operates multiple sites, allowing travel nurses to gain broad clinical exposure across diverse patient populations and specialty units.
