Job Details:
* 3x12 evening shift schedule
* 40 hours of orientation required
* Minimum 1 year of OR experience required
* Scrub experience required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience required
* Trauma Level II experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Required skills include: lobe resection, lung resection/thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, thyroidectomy, arthroscopy, fracture reduction (open and closed), laminectomy/discectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, transurethral resection of the prostate, and trauma procedures
* Additional competencies include: fire safety, cell saver, administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol (time out), and wound management
* Scrub experience required across multiple surgical specialties including general, ENT, orthopedic, thoracic, trauma, and urology surgery
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates 325 staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of surgical and medical services. The facility utilizes Epic as its primary charting system and supports a wide variety of surgical specialties within its operating room department. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires experienced OR nursing professionals to support its diverse surgical case mix.
