Opportunity:

RN - Cardiovascular Thoracic PCU

Job Details:

* Night shift position with variable days of the week
* Minimum of 5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required
* On-call required 1 day every 6 weeks
* Travelers are first to float and may float to sister facilities within the South Region per facility needs
* 2 years of experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA)
* Charting system: EPIC
* Patient ratios are 1:3 for progressive care population and 1:4 for more acute care population, with a maximum of 5
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Telemetry unit specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic care
* Provide inpatient management of patients before and after cardiac catheterization procedures, vascular interventions, open-heart surgery, and thoracic surgery
* Common patient populations include those with chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular and thoracic conditions
* Adult patient population
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line care/management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, titration of cardiac drips, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams

This facility is a comprehensive medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and specialized care services. The cardiovascular thoracic progressive care unit operates with 24 beds and a daily census of 22 patients, reflecting a consistently active and dynamic care environment. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and provides advanced cardiovascular and thoracic care with access to specialized resources including respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
