Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts per contract
* Will be expected to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays
* Self-scheduling model
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* CCRN certification preferred
* ECMO experience preferred
* Required skills include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and ventilator management
* Experience with ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS preferred
* Treat patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplant, CABG, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, heart failure, vascular, esophagectomy, and VATS
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Compact or Kentucky state license required
* Candidates may float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby

This facility is a large academic medical center with a 44-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit equipped to handle complex cardiac and thoracic cases. The unit offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and specializes in advanced cardiac procedures and treatments. The facility maintains high standards of patient care with access to cutting-edge technology and specialized support teams.
