Open Position: RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* Work 4x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Patient ratios of 1:6 standard, with potential flex to 1:7 in the event of an unplanned absence
* Every other weekend required
* On-call required on a PRN basis for low census
* Floating required to other med/surg units as needed to meet facility needs
* Guaranteed hours: facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Free parking available
* Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, CAD, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status
* All patients eligible for telemetry monitoring, managed by monitor techs in a central location
* Telemedicine equipment used on unit; instruction will be provided
* Required skills include: Med/Surg, Telemetry, MS/Tele, Insulin, Rapid Response, IV management, blood product administration, wound care, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
* Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
* Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams

This facility is a 34-bed community hospital unit specializing in general medical-surgical care, supporting a wide range of adult and geriatric patient populations. The unit is equipped with telemedicine technology and supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more. The facility utilizes Epic as its charting system and maintains a structured staffing plan designed to support quality patient care.
