Opportunity:
Cath Lab Tech
Job Details:
* Work 4x10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with shifts varying as work continues until procedures are complete
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down to add up to 1 shift
* On-call required: one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month and one call shift and evening shift every week; call requirements may change based on staffing needs
* Holiday coverage required as needed
* No floating between service lines or sister facilities required
* Daily caseload involves running 4 to 5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT per lab, with approximately 20-25 cases per day
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional coronary cath, diagnostic and interventional vascular, angioplasty, shockwave, temporary pacer, IABP, Impella, carotid angiogram, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), FFR/IFR, pericardiocentesis, and cardiac biopsies
* Must be proficient in coronary diagnostic/intervention scrub and monitoring
* Special equipment includes Impella, Balloon Pump, Angiojet, Shock Wave, MAC Lab for documentation, and Vidistar for image storage
* Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
* Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab
* Radiation badge required and must be provided by agency
* 2+ years of Cath Lab experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS (registered or in process), and SC license (SCRQSA)
* Community hospital experience required
* Required skills include: accurate monitoring, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab, left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), rotablator atherectomy, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, embolization, IVC filter placement, and PACS
Facility:
This is an acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds, offering a high-volume cardiac catheterization program operating across 5 labs. The facility supports a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, providing travelers with exposure to advanced cardiac care in a well-equipped clinical environment. The facility uses Epic for charting and maintains robust procedural volume with a strong interdisciplinary team supporting daily cath lab operations.
