Job Details:

* Night shift position with 48 hours guaranteed per week
* IV Certification is a firm requirement
* Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience required; first-time travelers accepted only with 3+ years of recent experience
* Travel experience required with at least 1 prior travel assignment completed
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:6/7 on nights and weekends utilizing team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, and other staff
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general medical surgical cases
* Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at a set rate, and titrating heparin per protocol
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered
* Must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays if all three fall within the assignment period, or at least 1 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment
* Travelers may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of application; RTO will not be approved after an offer has been made
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required

This is a short-term acute care facility operating as a Level I Trauma Center, equipped to handle the most critical and complex patient cases. The facility maintains a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a daily census of 42 patients and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services.
