Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with possible start times of 7:00 AM (Days), 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, or 3:00 PM (Mids/Eves), or 7:00 PM (Nights)
* 6-week scheduling cycles
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Holiday expectations of every other or 50%
* Up to 5 days of requested time off approved
* No floating between units
* Patient ratio of 1:4; fast track ratio of 1:6 (team nurse: RN, NP)
* Patient population includes neonates through geriatrics, 25% pediatrics, walk-in traumas, and all types of patients including cardiac, neuro, GI, respiratory, and psych
* Minimum 2 full years of emergency room experience required (any trauma level)
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Advanced NRP, NIHSS, TNCC
* Strong ED experience and customer service skills required
* Must have strong IV skills and knowledge of medication administration including mixing own medications (under pharmacy supervision via video conference)
* Experience with chest tubes and central lines required
* RNs manage ventilators and BiPAP (ventilator/BiPAP class provided during onboarding)
* May be requested to serve as charge nurse (facility will train if needed)
* Charting system: EPIC
* Equipment: Alaris, Pyxis
* Scrub color: Any color

* Traveler Telemetry Competency required to be completed and passed prior to start
* Orientation includes 1 hospital orientation day, 8-hour respiratory class, and 1 full day on the unit

Facility:

This is a brand-new, off-campus emergency department open 24/7 with 8 to 10 beds. The facility is a small acute care location supporting a wide range of patient needs. On-unit support includes a charge nurse, ED physician, ER tech, front desk staff, and EST/phlebotomy assistance, with the majority of blood draws performed by RNs. There is no respiratory therapy or on-site pharmacy, requiring RNs to manage ventilators and mix their own medications under pharmacy supervision via video conference.
