Opportunity:

Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN

Job Details:

* 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays with some weekends required
* Block scheduling available for weekend blocks only (Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon)
* Typical patient ratio of 1:4 with flex to 1:5 in emergency situations
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily cardiac patients including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
* Unit census of 34 with 36 beds and 36 rooms
* 1 year of Medical/Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required; must be able to read strips
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Required skills: IV start, telemetry monitoring and interpretation
* Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white required
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles or more from the facility

Facility:

This facility operates a Stepdown and Immediate Care Unit with 36 beds serving adult and geriatric patients, with a primary focus on cardiac care including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical records system. The acuity level of patients varies, with some stepdown patients comparable to Progressive Care or Telemetry patients found in larger facilities.
