Job Details:
* Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required
* No on-call or block scheduling required
* Position does not float between units
* Patient ratio of 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* 15-room Labor & Delivery unit serving adolescent and adult patient populations
* Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
* Must be proficient in a wide range of L&D skills including: labor and delivery, cesarean section, neonatal resuscitation, fetal heart monitoring, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, antihypertensives, epidural anesthesia, postpartum hemorrhage management, and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia care
* Additional skills required include: antepartum care, high-risk delivery assistance, triage of obstetrical patients, IV placement and maintenance, VBAC management, and use of internal and external fetal monitoring
* Navy scrubs required for RNs
* Free parking available in unrestricted spaces; bike racks available
* Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submittal process
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This facility is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staff beds. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The Labor & Delivery unit consists of 15 rooms and is equipped to handle a wide range of obstetrical cases from routine deliveries to high-risk situations.
