Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry (Float Pool)

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available; day shift 7:00 AM?7:30 PM and night shift 7:00 PM?7:30 AM
* Weekend shifts: nights cover Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; days cover Saturday and Sunday; 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
* Holiday requirement: one major and one minor holiday
* No block scheduling
* Float pool position requiring travel between two facilities approximately 9 miles apart
* May float to additional units including telemetry, med-surg, and ER for med-surg/telemetry holds
* Patient ratios: 1:4 telemetry, 1:5 med-surg, 1:3 DOU
* High acuity patient population including pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
* Common diagnoses also include post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients
* Must be able to read telemetry strips independently; monitor tech available to read strips with RN sign-off
* Experience with drips required: amiodarone, cardizem, and heparin (non-titrating)
* BiPAP and CPAP experience required; ventilator experience not required
* Experience with chest tubes preferred
* Charge nurse and resource RN on at all times; charge nurse does not take patient assignments
* Nurse aides available but resources may be limited; nurses must be prepared for primary care nursing
* EMR system: Cerner
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Minimum 2?3 years of nursing experience required; travel experience preferred
* Must demonstrate a positive attitude and compassionate approach to patient care
