Job Details:
* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekends and holidays required as needed
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* May be required to float between Downtown and Northeast campuses based on census and staffing needs
* 2+ years of emergency room experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of ER experience
* South Carolina license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Free parking with pass distributed at pickup
* See patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Approximately 110 patient visits per day across 23 rooms
* Perform and assist with procedures including chest tubes, procedural sedation, intubation, and TPA/TNK administration
* Operate specialized equipment including ventilators and BiPAP machines
* Key clinical skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, IV vasopressor management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, phlebotomy, and stroke and STEMI care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
* Block scheduling can be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
* Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Facility:
This acute care hospital operates with 75 staffed beds and provides comprehensive emergency department services to a diverse patient population. The facility is both STEMI and stroke certified, reflecting its commitment to high-acuity cardiac and neurological care. The emergency department handles approximately 110 visits per day and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
