Opportunity:

Emergency Room RN

Job Details:

* Minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
* 8-10 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, including Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
* Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
* No on-call requirements
* Floating may be required between ED Hold area, departments, units, and facilities as needed
* Block scheduling not available
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract period
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC; CPI and MAB preferred
* Missouri or Compact nursing license required
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required skills: General Emergency Department combined adult/pediatric setting, cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, and triage
* Preferred skills: Arterial line management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, interpretation of arterial blood gases, STEMI Certified Facility experience, and Stroke Certified Facility experience
* Treats patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Occasional OB patients may require management of mother and baby until transfer
* Daily census of approximately 50 patients across 12 rooms

This facility operates a non-trauma emergency department and serves as a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center, providing specialized cardiovascular and neurological emergency care. The emergency department treats a wide range of typical ED patient diagnoses and is equipped to handle combined adult and pediatric cases. The facility maintains high standards of care with interdisciplinary support and a structured scheduling system to ensure consistent patient coverage.
