Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Emergency Room
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
* Patient ratio of 4:1 on nights and weekends
* 2 weekend shifts required per contract
* 1+ years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Epic charting experience required
* Valid KS or Compact RN license required at time of submission
* 50 mile local radius enforced; locals not accepted
* May be expected to float to like units within scope of practice based on facility needs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC - must be in hand at time of submission
* Key skills include: triage, intubation, arterial line management, chest tube management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
* Common patient diagnoses include: DKA, shortness of breath, CHF, STEMI, stroke, and SI/HI
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services
* 22-bed emergency department with a daily census of approximately 100 visits per day

Facility:

This facility operates a fully equipped Emergency Department with a 22-bed unit and a high daily census of approximately 100 patient visits. The department is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke certified, with capabilities for advanced procedures including intubation, central lines, arterial lines, and chest tube management.
