Labor and Delivery RN

Job Details:

* 36 guaranteed hours per week with a 13-week assignment
* Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* 2 years of experience required; minimum 1 year may be considered for screening
* First-time travelers accepted
* Weekend requirement: 2 weekends every 6 weeks; night shift weekends may include Fridays
* No on-call required
* No floating within the facility required
* Block scheduling not available
* Local candidates accepted
* Pending licenses not accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components), Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), ACLS, EFM
* Experience required with vaginal exams, baby care, and birth volume ranging from fewer than 100 to more than 300 births
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrub color: No specific color required; camouflage and character patterns are not permitted
* Strict dress code in effect: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible body piercings other than earrings, no facial or nose rings, and earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoop earrings
* Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of assignment
* Holiday time off: only 1 holiday request permitted; staff will most likely be required to work holidays

Facility:

This is an acute care hospital and Magnet-designated, teaching facility operating as a Level II Trauma Center with 412 staffed beds. The Labor and Delivery unit includes 33 rooms and beds with an average daily census of 37 patients. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. Parking is available at no cost.
