Opportunity:

PCU/Step down Float RN

Job Details:

* 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Float position covering PCU, MS/Tele, and Med Surg units based on institutional needs
* Patient population includes ER boarded patients, telemetry, med surg, and PCU patients
* Nurse to patient ratio varies 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Weekend coverage required
* May include charge nurse responsibilities on select smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination
* Charge nurse experience is required
* Minimum 3 years of experience required; at least 1 year required at minimum
* US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone will not qualify
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA management, epidural analgesia, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, non-invasive airway management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years, to be provided during compliance process prior to start
* 24 orientation hours included
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

This short-term acute care facility operates 325 staffed beds and provides a wide range of medical and surgical services. The facility supports interdisciplinary care through teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The organization utilizes Epic as its charting system and maintains high standards for patient care across multiple units.
