Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac ICU
Job Details:
* 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
* Weekend coverage required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Float required to ICUs and Cardiac Telemetry units
* Standby call required with no call pay
* One pre-approved time off request permitted
* 72 orientation hours required
* Care for adult cardiac and medical intensive care patients, as well as step-down overflow
* Manage advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, LVAD, and Transcatheter Valve Procedures (TVP)
* Manage ventilated patients, CRRT, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with strong Cardiac ICU background (CCU or CVICU preferred)
* 1 year minimum experience with Epic EMR required
* Patient age group: Adults
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, sheath removal, post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR), pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
* Additional preferred skills: ECMO, ICP monitoring, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, TAVR, procedural sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and social services
* Self-scheduling model
Facility:
This is a large health system operating multiple campuses across the region, offering a comprehensive range of specialty services. The cardiac ICU unit consists of 19 beds with a daily census of approximately 16 patients and supports a high level of acuity with access to interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, IV teams, physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy. The facility emphasizes strong cardiac care expertise and utilizes Epic as its primary charting system.
