RN BMT/ONC (10000205 - Cellular Therapies Unit)

Job Details:

* Night shift position with various days of the week
* Weekend coverage required based on unit needs
* No on-call requirements
* Minimum 2 years of acute care BMT/Heme experience required with chemotherapy administration experience
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Float required between BMT/Oncology and Cellular Therapies Unit (CTU), as well as potential float to sister facilities within the metro region based on facility needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1; ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs - candidates must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
* 51-bed unit caring for patients with blood cancers receiving chemo/biotherapies and cellular therapies such as stem cell transplants and CAR-T
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, ONC certification, CO or Compact RN License, Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
* Required skills include: administration of chemotherapy (IV push, continuous infusion, oral), CAR-T, bone marrow administration, blood and blood product administration, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, care and management of ports, stem cell therapies, management/disposal of cytotoxic spills, neutropenic precautions, monitoring chemotherapy, body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, recognition and communication of abnormal lab values, and management of conditions such as acute tumor lysis syndrome, graft-versus-host disease, sepsis, anaphylaxis, leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and spinal cord compression

The facility's cellular therapies unit is a 51-bed inpatient oncology unit dedicated to caring for adult patients with blood cancers undergoing advanced treatments including chemotherapy, biotherapies, stem cell transplants, and CAR-T therapy. The organization maintains high standards of patient care and provides interdisciplinary support to staff working within its network of facilities.
