4W Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN
Job Details:
* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
* Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and float
* 36 hours guaranteed per week
* Patient ratio is 1:5; may increase to 6-7:1 in instances of call-ins, with the RN responsible for 5 primary patients and backing on 1-2 LPN patients
* Float within like units when necessary
* Every other weekend required
* Orientation held every other Thursday (16 hours)
* Minimum 2 years RN experience required; 1 year in-specialty experience required
* WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
* Required certifications: BLS/BCLS (AHA); ACLS preferred
* Cerner charting system experience preferred
* Scrub color: Royal Blue/White (RN)
* Parking is free for travelers
* Care for Adult and Geriatric patient populations
* 39-bed unit managing Cardiac conditions including Acute MI, unstable angina, CHF, unstable arrhythmias, and cardiac disorders; CVA and surgical patients
* Observation unit with high turnaround of 36 hours or less; approximately half inpatient and half observation on average
* Post Cardiac Cath, Post Angiogram, and PTCA experience required
* Cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and paracentesis experience preferred but not required
* Two years of telemetry experience preferred
* Required drips include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitro; must have working proficiency
* Skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
