RN - Telemetry/Progressive Care
Job Details:
* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
* Contract options of 13 or 26 weeks available
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
* Floating to other med/surg units may be required based on census needs
* Step-down unit from ICU with no ventilator or pressor support
* Patient population includes adults with higher oxygen demands, dialysis patients, atrial fibrillation, and post-heart catheterization
* Drips managed on unit include heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotalol initiation
* Telemetry monitoring responsibilities included
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts including nights and weekends
* Unit census of 28 beds
* Special equipment includes peritoneal dialysis
* Key skills required include cardiac telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management and titration, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, pre/post cardiac cath care, pre/post hemodialysis management, and wound care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Tennessee nursing license required
* Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience in unit required
* Block scheduling type
* Pre-approved time off: one request per contract
