Opportunity:
RN - Bone Marrow Transplant / Oncology (Outpatient)
Job Details:
* Bone marrow transplant experience required; experience administering cells preferred
* Adult outpatient program within a children's hospital setting
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:2
* Every other weekend required
* Call required
* Required certifications: BLS; Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and OCN preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Active Michigan (MI) license required at time of submission; compact licenses not accepted
* Perform cell and gene therapy administration
* Administer blood products, chemotherapy, and conditioning treatments
* Provide supportive care administration and triage
* Skills required include: accessing and managing ports, central line care, IV push administration of chemotherapy, PICC line care, phlebotomy, infusion pump management, isolation precautions and PPE, neutropenic precautions, management and disposal of cytotoxic spills, and patient and family education and support
* Patients include adults and geriatrics with hematologic malignancies
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams
Facility:
This facility features a newly opened adult outpatient oncology program housed within a children's hospital, offering a unique and specialized care environment. The facility supports a comprehensive range of oncology services including cell and gene therapy, bone marrow transplant care, and chemotherapy administration. With a daily census of approximately 14 patients and robust interdisciplinary support teams, the facility is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered oncology care.
