Job Details:
* 3x12-hour night shifts per week on various days of the week
* 7 weekend shifts required per contract
* No on-call required
* Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of RN experience
* Float required to all med/surg units and may float to sister facilities based on facility needs
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights; ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs - candidates must be comfortable with and have prior experience in flexible staffing ratio environments
* Charting system: Epic experience required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, CPR; CO or Compact RN License required
* Scrub color: Navy
* 28-bed unit with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Unit focuses on neurosurgical and orthopedic specialties including ortho trauma, elective ortho surgery (hips, knees, shoulders), back surgery patients, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and pre/post neurosurgery
* Required clinical skills include: CVA, isolation precautions/PPE, med/surg, MS/tele, ortho trauma, PCA, surgical drains, telemetry (unit and remote monitoring), total joint replacement, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams
