Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown/PCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour day and night shifts with shift times from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
* Every other weekend requirement with potential holiday rotation
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 depending on acuity
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of Stepdown/PCU experience
* Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips
* Required to titrate drips including cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax
* Common patient diagnoses include cardiac patients, post-pneumonia, post-cath lab, seizures, ETOH/CIWA protocols, and pacemakers
* Must be able to read, interpret, and print telemetry strips, perform measurements, and identify rhythms
* Expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment including BiPAP, airvo, and trachs appropriately
* Charge nurse available on each shift; day shift charge does not take a patient assignment unless necessary
* Monitor technician available 24/7
* Respiratory therapy assigned to unit 24/7
* Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit for ADLs, vitals, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, and blood sugars
* Travelers may float to any inpatient unit and are first to float
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
* Orientation includes 2 days of general orientation and 1 day with a preceptor
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* BSN not required
* Must provide a copy of unexpired driver's license at time of submission
* Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
