Job Details:

* Day shift position with hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
* On-call responsibilities include 1-2 evenings per week from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM (no overnight call)
* Weekend on-call rotation every 4th weekend from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
* 30-minute response time required for on-call shifts
* 1 holiday per contract required, on-call only
* Minimum 2 years of sterile processing technician experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with 5 or more years of experience
* Required certification: CRCST; CER preferred
* Skills required include decontamination, processing, tray assembly, wrapping, instrument inspections, high-level disinfection, proper use of chemicals, and transport of sterile items
* Endoscope processing experience required, including bronchoscopy and GI scopes
* Must be proficient with loaner pan and tray processing
* Technology and equipment used includes Sensitrac tracking system, Venivator high-level disinfector for scopes, Sterrad low-temperature sterilizer, and Scope Buddy
* No floating to other departments
* Up to 2 weeks of unit orientation provided
* Scrubs provided by facility

Facility:

This facility is an 89-bed teaching hospital featuring 4 operating rooms and serves a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, GYN including C-sections, orthopedics including total joints, and endoscopies. The sterile processing department handles an average of 10 to 15 cases per day and is supported by a team of sterile processing technicians, a manager and supervisor, and OR staff. The facility maintains a collaborative department culture with structured on-call coverage for evenings and weekends.
