Opportunity:

Pulmonary Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Job Details:

* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - no weekends or on-call required
* Minimum 6 months of experience required; 1 year of experience in an adult outpatient or pulmonary clinic setting preferred
* Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential required; Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) will not be accepted
* EPIC charting experience required
* No floating between units - same location every day
* Required certifications: BLS, CMA
* Scrub color/attire: TBD
* Perform vital signs including height/weight, pulse oximetry, and general vital sign collection
* Record patient history, medications, and allergies in preparation for exams
* Set up and assist with nebulizer treatments
* Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections
* Collect and label specimens including sputum
* Perform laboratory tests including strep testing
* Complete office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, and stocking supplies
* Administer medications and TB tests, conduct follow-up phone calls, and room patients
* Assist with special procedures including 6-minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing
* See adult patients with an average of 20 visits per day across 3 rooms
* Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services and interpretation services

This pulmonary clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions in adult patients. The facility provides a collaborative care environment supported by respiratory and interpretation services, and utilizes EPIC as its electronic health record system. The clinic sees approximately 20 patients per day and offers a structured, consistent work environment with a focus on outpatient pulmonary care.
