Job Details:

* Day shift position working 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
* Full-time position
* Responsible for pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
* Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans
* Perform technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout the hospital
* Responsibilities include emergency (Code Blue and White) response, airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, delivery of aerosolized drugs, and ventilator management
* Perform oral hygiene, airway retaining device placement and maintenance, and airway support device management including BiPAP and CPAP devices
* Manage oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring, chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
* Maintain accurate and complete documentation
* Clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary
* Participate in CAP and JC surveys
* RRTs may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
* Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring (INO and HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, and transport duties
* 1-3 years of experience preferred
* Required credentials: RT or RCP License in the state of Texas, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC, BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only), and NRP
