Scrub Tech

Job Details:

* Work 4 x 10-hour shifts per week for a total of 40 hours per week
* On-call responsibilities required, distributed equitably among staff and may include holiday coverage
* Ortho experience required
* Must maintain current CPR certification
* Certification as OR Surgical Technician required
* Assist surgeons and nursing staff in the performance of surgical procedures
* Collaborate with all members of the surgical team for the benefit of the patient
* Demonstrate clinical competence in surgical technical skills, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and Materials Management Departments
* Maintain sterile technique through understanding of principles of asepsis
* Communicate any breaks in technique to the circulating RN and surgeons
* Ensure all necessary equipment is in the room prior to the start of each case
* Demonstrate competency in safely operating electro-surgical, diagnostic, video, and disposable equipment, as well as equipment unique to each specialty area
