Job Details:

* 5 x 8-hour day shifts with alternating schedule between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM and 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
* No weekend requirements
* No on-call requirements
* Specialty clinic serving stroke and cognitive patients including adults and geriatrics
* Serve as the sole MA in the clinic while supporting multiple providers as needed
* Room patients and set up exam rooms
* Manage in-basket, chart preparation, medication prior authorizations, and procedure prior authorizations
* Obtain prior authorizations for outgoing referrals such as Cardiology
* Handle patient phone calls, follow-up calls, and pharmacy/patient refill requests
* Perform vital signs, height/weight, urine dipstick/urinalysis, and labeling of specimens
* Assist with insurance verification, scheduling appointments, and recording patient history, medications, and allergies
* Patient volume ranges from 8 to 10 patients with one provider and up to 16 to 20 patients with two providers
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and assist patients with physical handicaps
* Strong organizational skills and ability to independently prioritize a diverse workload required
* Experience working with disabled adults, healthcare terminology, and Epic required
* Adult outpatient clinic experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, MA-C or MA-R (MA-R will be endorsed by a provider at the clinic)
* Charting system: Epic
* Must have reliable personal transportation
* Must be open to transitioning to a permanent full-time role following the 13-week contract

Facility:

This outpatient specialty facility operates a dedicated cognitive care clinic focused on providing specialized care for stroke and cognitive patients. The clinic utilizes Epic for charting and supports a multidisciplinary care model with at least one APP on-site at all times and physician coverage several times per month. The facility emphasizes independent clinical support and strong patient care coordination across a varied daily workload.
