Opportunity:

Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) - Infectious Disease

Job Details:

* 5x8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekends off
* No on-call requirements
* Same location every day - no floating between units
* Minimum 6 months of experience working as an MA-C in an adult outpatient clinic setting required
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrub color: Any color
* Required certification: BLS
* Required license: MA-C (Medical Assistant-Certified only - MA-R, MA-P, and MA-HT are not accepted)
* Must be proficient in vital signs including height/weight, 12-lead EKG/ECG, pulse oximetry, and vision testing
* Must be able to perform exam preparation including positioning/draping and recording patient history, medications, and allergies
* Must be able to set up and assist with procedures including dressing changes, pap smears, and aseptic/sterile procedure trays
* Must be proficient in administering injections including immunizations, intradermal, and intramuscular
* Must be able to collect specimens including sputum, stool, throat, urine (UA/clean catch), vaginal, and wound samples
* Must be able to perform laboratory tests including strep and urine dipstick/urinalysis
* Office duties include handling authorization forms, chart preparation, insurance verification, ordering and stocking supplies, pharmacy calls, patient refill requests, scheduling appointments, and telephone triage
* Professional skills required include administering medication, TB test administration, aseptic technique, follow-up phone calls, reviewing lab results, rooming patients, suture removal, and wound care
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
