Opportunity:

SLP - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
* Block scheduling type
* See approximately 7 patients per day with a daytime patient ratio of 5
* Work with adolescent and pediatric patient age groups
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of hospital experience
* Acute care experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* California SLP license in hand required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Floating may be required to different departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius
* No call or on-call responsibilities required
* Required certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP, CA SLP License
* Children's hospital experience preferred
* Pediatric outpatient experience preferred
* Pediatric rehabilitation facility experience preferred
* PICU experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Key skills include: acute care, bedside swallow evaluation, oral motor, oral peripheral exam, augmentative and alternative communication devices, compensatory strategies, assessment, evaluation, plan of care, patient/family education, TBI, thickening agents, trach/vent, and ventilator dependent/assisted care
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
* Up to two pre-approved time-off requests allowed
* 40 orientation hours required
