Job Details:

* Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity
* 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule with holiday rotation
* No on-call required
* May float to NICU, PICU, or Pediatric Stepdown to meet facility needs
* Traveler may be cancelled one shift per two weeks
* Self-scheduling unit
* 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required
* Cardiovascular and Pediatric experience required
* VAD experience highly preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
* Required certifications: PALS, BLS (American Heart Association only)
* Preferred certification: ACLS (American Heart Association only)
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required skills include: antiarrhythmics, care of ventilated patients, central line blood draws, central line/implanted line care, congenital heart disease/repair, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), continuous sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, post cardiac surgery, and tracheostomy care
* Experience with special equipment including ECMO, CRRT, Berlin Hearts, HeartMate3, Impella, and VAD required
* VAD training required upon arrival to unit
* Cares for patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
* All RTO must be provided at time of submission

This is a Gold Beacon Award-winning, 29-bed Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care unit that serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina, ranked #4 in the US and #1 in the nation for outcomes. The unit cares for patients with congenital heart disease of any age, with an average daily census of 26 and a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 total staffed beds, offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pediatric dietitians, pharmacy, and more. Common procedures include cardiac surgery, ventricular assist devices, heart transplant, cardiac catheterization, ECMO, and CRRT.
