Opportunity:

Respiratory Therapist - ICU

Job Details:

* Night shift position with hours of 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM at St. Patrick facility and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM at Lake Charles facility
* Will float between two facilities: Lake Charles and St. Patrick
* Every other weekend and holiday schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 5 ventilators to one therapist
* Gray scrubs required
* Adult ICU experience required
* CRTs may be accepted with critical care experience
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC
* RT or RCP license in state of employment required
* Responsible for pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
* Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans
* Perform emergency response including Code Blue and Code White
* Manage airway including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
* Deliver aerosolized drugs and manage ventilators including setup and operation
* Manage airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP
* Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
* Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, and transport duties
* RRTs may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
* 1 to 3 years of experience preferred
