Open Position: RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Opportunity:

RN/RT - Cath Lab

Job Details:

* Work four 10-hour shifts per week from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
* Weekday and weekend call requirements included
* 1-2 call shifts during the week from end of shift until the following morning
* 1 weekend per month on call from end of shift Friday through Monday morning
* 30-minute response time required for call
* Call team consists of 2 Techs and 2 RNs
* Holiday call rotation every other holiday
* Self-scheduling with minor adjustments to fill gaps
* Approved time off up to 7 days; holidays or more than 7 days require additional approval
* No floating to other departments
* Minimum 2+ years of experience required; Cath Lab experience required, Cath Lab and IR experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* RN responsibilities include: reading/interpreting EKGs, circulating, sedating, transporting patients, and IABP transport when needed
* RT responsibilities include: scrubbing and panning simultaneously, room turnover, and experience with Manifold preferred
* Cath Lab cases include: LHC/RHC, diagnostic, interventional, IABPs, Rotablator, STEMIs/MIs, pacemakers, gen changes, MICRAs, staged/protected PCIs, CTOs; Impella experience preferred
* IR cases include: coil embolizations, nephrostomy tubes, central lines, ports, G/GJ tubes, IVC filters, tunneled and temporary dialysis catheters, clot management devices, and CT/MRI biopsy assistance
* Hybrid room cases include: AAA grafts, peripheral/AO runoffs, and fistulograms
* Each room utilizes 3-person teams
* 7-14 cases per day
* EMR: EPIC
* IV Pump: Alaris
* Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* Hemodynamic monitoring: Merge
* All C-arms: GE
* Injector: MedRad
* Scrubs and lead provided; extended sizing available upon request
* Free parking available on site
* Required certifications for RN: BLS, ACLS
* Required certifications for RT: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS certification, and State License
* RN must complete MHS Tele test prior to arrival
* Orientation includes MHS NEO orientation; travelers with no IR experience receive approximately 2 weeks of orientation, those with IR experience receive approximately 1 week
* Travelers will take buddy call during orientation

Facility:

This facility is a 107-bed non-trauma designated hospital featuring a Cath Lab, an IR room, and a Hybrid room. The department is supported by 24/7 phlebotomy, radiology technologist, and hospitalist services, with IR and cardiology specialists available during the day and on call at night. The facility maintains a collaborative environment with charge nurse or lead tech oversight on any given day and utilizes modern technology and equipment to support a wide range of cardiovascular and interventional procedures.
