Job Details:

* Full-time position requiring 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
* Work in a combined LDRP unit providing labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
* Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU 1:3 for intermediate care with minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times
* Unit consists of 9 LDRP beds, 1 OBEG bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite
* No unit secretaries or technicians available on unit
* Perform daily rounding on all patients and SAFETY rounding
* Procedures performed on unit include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries
* Must be able to labor and recover the mother as well as receive and transition the newborn including assessment
* Experience with shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, and other OB emergencies preferred
* Advanced skills required: fetal monitoring education and experience with inductions including Pitocin and Cervidil
* Equipment used: CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps
* Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN
* Float policy requires staff to float anywhere within the facility when not needed on unit; some staff cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring training
* Required dress code: Pink and/or brown scrubs required per infant security policy

Facility:

This facility is a Joint Commission certified medical center holding designations as a Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, and Level II NICU. The Women's Services unit is staffed by a highly experienced team, including several nurses with approximately 30 years of experience who serve as valuable resources and preceptors. The unit operates as a cohesive, collaborative team and provides an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive experience across labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care.
