Job Details:

* Mixed unit position covering PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg patients
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
* Every other weekend required
* Fast-paced department with a length of stay goal of 18-24 hours
* Approximately 2/3 of patients managed under EDOBS providers located within the department from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and reachable via phone from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Charge experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Must be familiar with intermediate medication drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, cardizem, and insulin
* Observation medicine experience preferred
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Float required within service line and between Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities as needed
* Float units include: Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation
* No block scheduling available
* Schedules subject to change with two-week notice given by facility
* Requested time off greater than 7 days requires manager approval
* Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include: chest pain, abdominal pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, anemia/GI bleed, dehydration/AKI, syncope, vertigo, COPD, asthma, UTI/pyelonephritis, headache/migraine, CHF, seizure, carbon monoxide poisoning, pancreatitis, cellulitis, and post-outpatient surgery complications
* Telemetry work setting
* Required skills include: CVA management, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac drip management, management of dysrhythmias, non-invasive airway management, telemetry, titration of insulin drips
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting experience required
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
