Opportunity:
RN - NICU/PICU
Job Details:
* Minimum of 2 years of NICU RN experience with PICU experience required
* Majority of time will be spent in the NICU with availability to staff in PICU when needed
* 2 out of 4 weekend shifts required per contract
* Patient ratios of 1:1 for intubated patients and 2:1 for stable non-intubated patients
* 36 orientation hours required
* Required skills include attending high-risk deliveries, NICU IV, and PICU experience
* Required certifications: NRP, BLS, PALS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Preferred experience includes a combination of PICU, PCTU, NICU, and moderate care
* At least 2 references required, with 1 being a supervisory reference
* Active Michigan (MI) license required - compact licenses are not accepted
* Two manager or supervisor references required - charge nurse references are not accepted
* All required certifications must be obtained prior to start date
* No pre-hire modules required - modules are completed onsite during orientation
Facility:
This facility is home to a 59-bed Level IV neonatal center serving the region, state, and beyond, and remains one of the state's leading referral centers for premature newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical problems. The facility offers 24/7 neonatal transport services with NICU RNs as members of the transport team and utilizes state-of-the-art technology including ECMO, nitric oxide therapy, high frequency ventilation, and hypothermic neuroprotection. The PICU is a 30-bed monitored unit providing multi-acuity care ranging from critically ill to short-stay observation, with multidisciplinary support from numerous pediatric specialties. A family-centered approach to care is practiced throughout, empowering families to participate in decision-making and the care of their child.
