Opportunity:
RN - Oncology
Job Details:
* Work on an 8S Oncology unit with a 21-bed capacity and current census of 8-12 patients
* Patient ratios of 1:3/4 with flex to 5
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 1 PCT
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3-4 RNs, and 1 PCT
* Rotating weekends required with no on-call responsibilities
* Tuesday start date required
* Oncology background required - candidates without this experience will not be considered
* Hematology oncology background preferred
* Chemotherapy certification preferred
* Required certifications: RN, BLS
* Utilize Baxter pumps and Meditech EMR system
* Perform typical procedures including replacing blood and electrolytes
* Float to hematology oncology and bone marrow transplant units as needed
* Follow unit guidelines including neutropenic precautions, strict intake and output monitoring, CHG bath and linen change every 24 hours, dressing changes every 7 days, and line and cap changes every 96 hours
* Wear royal blue scrubs per dress code requirements
* Compassionate personality and patient-centered approach required
