Open Position: Physician - Emergency Medicine

Opportunity:

PA - Emergency Department / Multi-Setting Coverage

Job Details:

* Open to a 3-6 month contract
* Provide medical and/or emergency services in emergency department, hospital, outpatient, and clinic settings
* Practice within scope and privileges as outlined in credentialing file
* Take complete, detailed, and accurate patient histories
* Review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports and order appropriate diagnostic testing
* Perform complete physical examinations and document pertinent data in patient medical records
* Make medical diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals to appropriate healthcare resources
* Arrange hospital admissions and discharges, perform hospital rounds, and record patient progress notes
* Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment plans
* Provide patient teaching instructions and guidance regarding follow-up medical care
* Perform or assist in routine laboratory techniques, therapeutic procedures, and some surgical procedures
* Assess and manage patients presenting to the emergency department and communicate with on-call physician as necessary
* Respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations as available
* Supervise cardiac stress testing
* Participate in organizational teams and committees for process improvement
* Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
* Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university required
* Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required
* Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required
* Current BLS certification required
* Current ACLS certification required
* Current PALS certification required for Emergency Department coverage
* Current NRP certification required for Emergency Department coverage
* Current ATLS certification required for Emergency Department coverage
