Opportunity:

Registered Nurse / Oncology CHEMO Certified

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5+ during days and nights
* Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
* Floating required within scope of practice, primarily to Oncology units but may also float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, Stepdown, and IMC floors
* IMC level of care with Telemetry skills required
* Care for adult patients with general Med/Surg, BMT, clinical trials, surgical oncology, and all liquid/solid tumor oncology diagnoses
* Administer chemotherapy including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral administration
* Manage and access ports, central lines, PICC lines, and implanted lines
* Monitor and manage chemotherapy side effects and recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
* Administer blood and blood products, coagulation factors, interferons, interleukins, and bone marrow
* Provide care for patients requiring neutropenic precautions, isolation precautions, and PPE
* Manage PCA pumps, infusion pumps, and Foley catheters
* Perform phlebotomy and central line blood draws
* Provide wound care, tracheostomy care, and chest tube care and management
* Support patients and families with education, advanced directives, and hospice care
* Charge experience preferred
* Previous community hospital experience required
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Charting system: EPIC (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and NIHSS
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and more

The unit operates at an intermediate level of care with telemetry capabilities and is connected to a main campus via a pedestrian bridge. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
