Job Details:

* Specialize in perioperative nursing practice during intraoperative surgical experience
* Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other perioperative service areas for all patient populations
* Act as patient advocate and provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel
* Participate in regular scheduled on-call rotation for the Surgery Unit
* Protect patients from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, laser, mechanical, and thermal sources
* Perform accounting procedures to protect patients from unintended retained surgical items
* Manage patient specimens according to organizational policy and procedures
* Administer medications safely and correctly
* Perform interventions to maintain wound and tissue perfusion and support multiple body systems at or above baseline levels
* Perform interventions to protect patients from surgical site infection
* Document nursing care accurately, completely, and legibly
* Collaborate effectively with other disciplines and use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
* May be floated to other departments where qualified to perform patient care
* Required education: Associate of Science in Nursing; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
* Required certifications: Current RN license in State of Oregon, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
* Preferred certifications: CNOR, Peri-op 101, CRASE training (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months)
* Previous RN circulator experience and scrub experience preferred
