Open Position: RN - Med Surg Oncology

Opportunity:

INPATIENT 5N Med Surg or Oncology RN

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 3x12 or 4x12 schedules
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required throughout the contract
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* Blocked schedule available
* Patient ratios of 1:5-6 across days, nights, and weekends
* 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with med/surg overflow
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* Oncology experience preferred but not required
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Previous charge nurse experience preferred
* IV start skills required
* Chemotherapy administration performed on unit
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
* Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
* Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required
* BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility
* Facility will only tolerate 2-3 call offs per contract

This inpatient facility operates a 12-bed oncology unit with med/surg overflow capabilities, providing comprehensive cancer care and general medical services. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and attendance, ensuring consistent and reliable staffing for their patient population.
